# How to install your eSIM

Installing the eSIM takes a few minutes. Do it with an internet connection (for example, wifi), either before you leave or when you arrive.

## Before you start

- Have the **QR code** we emailed you ready. Open it on another screen or device so you can scan it, or find it in [My eSIMs](https://linkiglobal.com/en/user/esims).
- Check that your phone supports eSIM: see the article "Is my phone compatible with eSIM?".

## On iPhone

1. Open **Settings** and go to **Cellular** (or **Mobile Data**).
2. Tap **Add eSIM** and choose **Use QR Code**.
3. Scan the QR and follow the prompts.
4. Give the line a name, for example "Travel".

## On Android

1. Open **Settings** and find **Connections** or **Network & internet**, then **SIM manager** (the name can vary by brand).
2. Tap **Add eSIM** and scan the QR code.
3. Follow the prompts and give the line a name.

## When you arrive

1. In your mobile data settings, choose the linki eSIM as the **data** line.
2. Turn on **data roaming** for that eSIM.
3. Wait a few moments for the phone to connect to a local network.

Your regular SIM can stay active for calls and text messages.
