How to install your eSIM

Installing the eSIM takes a few minutes. Do it with an internet connection (for example, wifi), either before you leave or when you arrive.


Before you start


  • Have the QR code we emailed you ready. Open it on another screen or device so you can scan it, or find it in My eSIMs.
  • Check that your phone supports eSIM: see the article "Is my phone compatible with eSIM?".


On iPhone


  1. Open Settings and go to Cellular (or Mobile Data).
  2. Tap Add eSIM and choose Use QR Code.
  3. Scan the QR and follow the prompts.
  4. Give the line a name, for example "Travel".


On Android


  1. Open Settings and find Connections or Network & internet, then SIM manager (the name can vary by brand).
  2. Tap Add eSIM and scan the QR code.
  3. Follow the prompts and give the line a name.


When you arrive


  1. In your mobile data settings, choose the linki eSIM as the data line.
  2. Turn on data roaming for that eSIM.
  3. Wait a few moments for the phone to connect to a local network.


Your regular SIM can stay active for calls and text messages.
